Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is planning to premiere at the Cannes festival according to a confirmed report by The Hollywood Reporter.
Dial of Destiny is eyeing a day two or day three debut at the French festival which runs from May 16-27.
The release of Indiana Jones 5 would mark this premiere event as a homecoming of sorts for the pulpy hero. Over a decade ago, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) premiered at the festival, which has in recent years served as a launching ground for tentpoles. Last year, Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick screened at Cannes. Additionally, the festival saw Solo: A Star Wars Story brought by Lucasfilm.

Dial of Destiny will once again star Harrison Ford as Jones, accompanied by Phoebe Waller-Bridge signing on for the franchise as the goddaughter of the archeologist. With film producer James Mangold as director of the feature, the movie revolves around a 70-year-old Indiana Jones. (In reality, Ford is 80).
“I wanted to follow Harrison’s own lead and simply deal with it straight on,” Mangold previously states to The Hollywood Reporter upon meeting the character at this age. “It’s not just a movie about a hero in his twilight years who is called back into action. It’s more than just that his bones might ache, it’s that his soul might ache, or that some of his optimism or sense fitting into the world might have evaporated.”
In the past, Ford has starred in four Steven Spielberg-directed Indiana Jones films: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989), and Crystal Skull (2008).
